Euryops Corporation ("we", "us" or "our") operates the mobile game Spot-the-difference-Kanji (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use the App, how it is used, and the choices available to you.
This policy applies to all distributions of the App, including the App Store (iOS) version, the Google Play (Android) version, and the Facebook Instant Games version.
Summary: The App does not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other contact details, and no account registration is required. Your game progress is stored only on your device and is never sent to our servers. We do not operate any backend server or analytics service. However, our advertising provider (Google) does collect information such as your advertising identifier in order to serve ads.
So that you can continue where you left off, the App stores the following information in your device's local storage (browser localStorage, iOS UserDefaults, or Android SharedPreferences). This information stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.
| Category | Details |
|---|---|
| Game results | Highest stage reached, best score, best score per difficulty, daily challenge records |
| Play activity | Last played date, play streak, daily reward status, kanji pairs you have discovered |
| Settings | Music and sound effect on/off, selected language |
| Purchases | Remaining hint tickets, whether the ad-free upgrade has been purchased |
None of this information identifies you personally.
The iOS and Android versions of the App display advertising through Google AdMob, provided by Google LLC, in order to keep the App free to download. To serve, measure, and protect its advertising, AdMob may automatically collect information from your device, including:
This information is collected by Google and handled in accordance with Google's privacy policy. We do not receive this information in a form that identifies individual users; we only see aggregated statistics (such as impression and revenue totals) in the AdMob dashboard.
The App offers optional in-app purchases (an ad-free upgrade and hint tickets). All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple Inc. (App Store) or Google LLC (Google Play).
We never collect or store your credit card number, bank details, billing address, or name. The App only receives confirmation of whether a purchase succeeded and which product was purchased, and this is used solely to unlock the item on your device. We do not operate a receipt validation server, so no purchase information is transmitted to us.
The Facebook Instant Games version runs on the platform operated by Meta Platforms, Inc. ("Meta"). In that version, your saved game data is stored in the player data storage provided by Meta, and your locale is read in order to select the display language. Score posting, tournament creation, and sharing with friends occur on Meta's platform only when you actively choose to perform them.
For information about how Meta handles data, please see the Meta Privacy Policy.
The App does not collect:
The only permission the Android version requests is internet access
(INTERNET), and the only permission prompt shown on iOS is the
App Tracking Transparency request.
We do not sell or share your information with third parties except as required by law. The App relies on the following service providers, each of which handles information under its own privacy policy.
| Provider | Purpose | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google LLC (AdMob) | Ad delivery, measurement, and consent management | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Apple Inc. | App Store distribution and in-app purchase payments | apple.com/legal/privacy |
| Google LLC (Google Play) | Google Play distribution and in-app purchase payments | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Meta Platforms, Inc. | Facebook Instant Games hosting and saved data storage | facebook.com/privacy/policy |
If we introduce ad mediation (serving ads through additional advertising networks) in the future, we will update this policy to identify those networks.
On iOS, the App asks for your permission to track. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", your advertising identifier (IDFA) is not shared with advertising providers and you will receive non-personalized ads. You can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, the App presents a consent form using Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalized ads are served. You can change your consent choices from the consent form within the App.
You will still see advertising after opting out, but the ads will not be based on your interests.
You can purchase the ad-free upgrade to stop interstitial (full-screen) ads from being displayed. Rewarded ads, which you choose to watch in exchange for a hint, remain available after this purchase.
Game data stored on your device is retained until you uninstall the App. Uninstalling the App generally deletes that data from your device.
Please note: If your device's backup feature (such as iCloud Backup or Android Auto Backup) is enabled, a copy of the data may remain in that backup after you uninstall the App. Please refer to your operating system's settings to manage backups.
For the retention and deletion of information collected by Google for advertising, please refer to Google's privacy policy. Purchase records are retained by Apple or Google under their respective policies.
The App is designed so that your information is not transmitted to or stored on our servers. Data stored on your device is kept in the per-application storage area provided by the operating system, which isolates it from other applications. Communication between the App and third-party services uses encrypted connections (HTTPS) provided by the respective SDKs.
The App is not designed for or directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and the United Kingdom, or such other age as required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below these ages.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided information through the App, please contact us at info@euryops.co.jp and we will take appropriate action.
The advertising, payment, and platform services used by the App are operated on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States and Japan. As a result, the information described in Section 3 may be transferred to and processed in a country whose data protection laws differ from those of your own. These providers rely on appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, for such transfers.
If you are located in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Our legal bases for processing are your consent (for personalized advertising, obtained through the UMP consent form) and our legitimate interests (for serving non-personalized advertising, preventing fraud, and improving the App).
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. Sharing of advertising identifiers with Google for personalized advertising may be considered "sharing" under the CPRA; you can opt out using the controls described in Section 6. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Because we do not hold your information ourselves, you can address most requests directly: delete on-device data by uninstalling the App, and manage advertising data using the controls in Section 6. For any other request or question, contact us at info@euryops.co.jp. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
The App itself does not use cookies for tracking. Advertisements delivered through AdMob may use cookies or similar technologies within the ad content.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the law, new features in the App, or changes to the third-party services we use. If we make a material change, we will post the updated policy on this page and indicate the effective date, and where appropriate we will notify you within the App. Continuing to use the App after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
